Travel maniacs throughout the globe, do exist ....
Since childhood, I had a dream ... Himalayas should be my abode ..
but has to settle down for a little less .... Though not exactly in the lap but somewhere near ... so that whenever I have a kick in my dreams .. I can just get up and take off ..... I am thankfull to the almighty for this ....
My profession as a General physician has given me ample oppurtunity to travel to the farflung areas of Himalayas time and again for health Camps. I used to volunteer for these camps with different NGO's and otherwise also . Still I am active in such type of activities and will be... till I am able to fullfil my dream .....
Traversing The Himalayas ...from Arunachal to Kashmir ...
This is one of my Himalayan Sojourns...
Following the Ganges upstream ..... from Rishikesh to Gomukh ...
The Sankhnad ..... Journey begins from Rhishikesh .....
The Ganges .... in the plains ..
The valley just opening up .... as we move upstream
The otherwise calm & quite Ganges of the plain .... is different in the hill
Harshil.... one of the beautyspots enroute ..
Weather God is always not in your favour .... within half an hour of that sunny shot ....
Thank God ... weather was playing Hide and seek ... everything was alright within hours ....
Another small dancing stream flows in to the Baghirathi ...
We are now following the Bhagirathi .....
The valley ahead....
The first glimses of the Bhagirathi peaks
Bhagirathi Sisters ... from a distance
As you move closer and closer..... all your senses are mesmerized by the magic ... It will cast a spell on you ....
Some of the unnamed peaks on the right of the trek....
Mt. Sudarshan ..
Another set of those ...... They just make you forget your mere existence ..
Chirbasa .... the abode of pine ...
The Bhojpatra ... the sacred Indian bark .....
And then suddenly the prized one appears before your eyes ..
Mt. Shivling ... its seeing is believing ....
words or pics can't gauge the mightiness of the peak ...
now it will be with you, rest of the trek . it gives you a sense
of God's presence ...
Where eagles dare to fly... I do...
